Slate Kitchen Floor
This slate kitchen floor in Earlsdon, Coventry has now gone through a total transformation.
We were called out to survey this floor as our clients were never fully happy with the floor from the day it was laid; it never had any depth of colour and lacked the lustre that the customer desired.
We started by testing the integrity of the existing seal and carried out a number of tests to ascertain the best cleaning methods that we would use, we then talked through our process with the customer and talked through the finish they would like to achieve, which was a nice deep rich colour, matt appearance, whilst still protecting both the tile and the grout.
We arrived onsite at our client’s home and started off by protecting all sensitive areas before we started cleaning. We use a variety of professional equipment to tackle even the trickiest of floors.
First of all, we start by removing any dry soil by giving the area a thorough hoovering and then we remove any old and degraded seals using a stripping solution and rotary machinery, followed by a freshwater rinse using our truck-mounted system to ensure all residues are fully removed.
Application of an Impregnating Seal
After giving the stone floor a few days to fully dry out we made a return visit to apply a seal. The seal chosen was a Colour Enhancing variety which not only brings out the depth of colour but protects the floor from minor mishaps.
The End Result
The floor is now beautifully cleaned and sealed and has the depth of colour the customer had been longing for, we left the customer with our aftercare advice and aftercare kit to ensure that their slate kitchen floor will remain looking amazing for years to come. Happy Customer Happy Floor Restorer
